Tis' the season ... for a summer wedding. The invitations lined up on your mantle-piece (hey, I'm an old-fashioned kinda girl), the thought and planning that goes into outfits, catching up with long-lost friends and relatives on the day itself, and of course the happy couple - I just love it all. I seem to have developed an unconscious rule to only wear vintage pieces to weddings, not such a leap for me, as I tend to wear at least one vintage item a day (including on my own wedding day). But I suppose part of the appeal is that I know no one else will turn up wearing the same outfit as me and as ever, this is true of children's clothes too.
Vintage clothes are a sure fire way to ensure your little ones look lovely and are wearing something extra special and unique for an extra special occasion. A word of caution though (from someone who knows), if you plan on dressing your (very) little one in something special, consider dressing them at the venue. Otherwise you can pretty much guarantee you'll be dealing with an explosive nappy situation two minutes before you arrive (and before anyone gets to see said special outfit). Trust me, I've been there.
We love florals for summer, and these dresses are light enough for play on a hot summers day, but special enough to befit a formal occasion.
But hey, why should the girls have all the fun? A vintage shirt or a blazer make great wedding apparel for our young men, while sticking to just the right side of cute. And hey, I would probably dress a girl in most of these too.
Children are probably the only people who can get away with wearing white or cream at a wedding without earning the wrath of the Bride (and nobody wants that), and it's a perfect for choice for a summer wedding (but beware messy food and explosive nappies, obvs).
All items are vintage, and sizing in approximate, so please do check the measurements in the individual listings.
