We bought paint! And even though there's still a lot to do in our little half of a farmhouse (lot's to do in the other side too...) it's beginning to feel like we're in touching distance of settling down to our life here. So this is the week in which it felt like we achieved a tiny bit of progress. It's the week in which we had to call the police because of a mysterious case of fence thievery and I began to suspect I was living in a story-line from The Archers. Ah, the blessed countryside. They do things differently here. We've survived the horrible weather without too much suffering, but an awful lot of mud. I fear my huge shoe collection is not going to see much love in my new environment, but my wellies definitely will.
Now we're marching on towards the finish line (don't get too carried away, it's a little way off yet!) I can let my imagination run away as I start to plot and plan our new home. I love how a wall of painted mugs, or a herb book foraged from my local Oxfam can grab my attention, and suddenly my kitchen has taken shape and I'm strolling through my garden, all within the confines of my imagination. A pinprick of inspiration from which so much can grow.
I anticipate many many hours spent on Pinterest....
The Lori and the Caravan shop is back! And Winter has very much arrived. My vintage item of the week is this beautifully soft 1960's winter suit (from Paris! And just £12!). Keep your eyes peeled for lot's more winter warmers in the shop this week!
